Our institutional repository, Stevenson Scholar Exchange, is a digital, online archive of scholarly, academic, professional, and creative work by Stevenson community members. Stevenson Scholar Exchange, which opened in summer 2017, is hosted on the Maryland Shared Open Access Repository (MD-SOAR).
We are very excited about using Stevenson Scholar Exchange to gather and celebrate the variety of work being produced by our faculty members across all departments and schools. Items submitted to Stevenson Scholar Exchange are publicly available online to all internet users. They will also be indexed by Google, Google Scholar, and the Stevenson Library's discovery search system. Authors can use Stevenson Scholar Exchange as a way of tracking and showcasing the work they have produced during their time here.
You may be able to submit published or previously-published work to Stevenson Scholar Exchange if you retained the copyright to your work. You may also want to consider negotiating the right to retain your own copyright as you publish in the future. For more information about copyright and what works can be submitted to Stevenson Scholar Exchange, go here.
Digital materials added to Stevenson Scholar Exchange will be retained for a minimum of five (5) calendar years. The Stevenson University Libraries reserve the right to change the length of retention at any time as long as they provide at least one (1) month's notice; however, we anticipate increasing the length of retention rather than decreasing it.
If at any time you would like to remove your work from Stevenson Scholar Exchange, you may do so by logging into your account or contacting Elizabeth Fields at efields2@stevenson.edu.
Stevenson Scholar Exchange is hosted externally on MD-SOAR's servers, and as such, it is not subject to the same policies that govern the Stevenson University Office of Information Technology. Use of Stevenson Scholar Exchange should not be considered a permanent alternative to keeping or hosting your own copy of your work.
Stevenson Scholar Exchange accepts work in digital formats only. Items should be submitted in the most universal format possible.
For text-based documents, .pdf is the preferred format, but you may also submit multiple copies if you need to preserve the original formatting. For example, if you have a PowerPoint presentation that includes special animations and embedded material, feel free to send it to us in both .pptx and .pdf formats.
Stevenson Scholar Exchange opened in September 2017. We are currently accepting work produced by Stevenson University faculty, staff, and students.
