Key Resources for Film

To see if the SU Library has a particular film, search the Library Catalog.

Search the catalog:

Limit to Videos/DVD.
Films are located on the first floor of the library and circulate two at a time for one week.

Use the Library Catalog to find print and ebooks owned by Stevenson. Some terms to try: motion pictures, film criticism,  the name of a film, genre or person.

Use OneSearch for more information on films, film criticism, history, genres, directors, actors and actresses.

Note: OneSearch will do a great job of finding books, e-books or journal articles discussing your film or genre, but may not include all the LexisNexis newspaper reviews or the New York Times (Historical) articles. You'll need to search them separately.

Films on Reserve

  • Many instructors put films on reserve at the library for their classes.
  •  Films on reserve are held behind the Circulation Desk.
  • Many of the reserve films may only be viewed in the library. Others may circulate overnight or for three days.
Exceptions to the circulation policy can only be made with the explicit permission of the instructor who put the film on reserve.
  • At the  Library, films on in-library only reserve may be viewed on computers using headphones.
