Mission
SU Library’s InfoLit Program strives to empower students, faculty, and staff to become confident information consumers and creators in the dynamic and evolving information landscape. Through innovative, engaging and collaborative instruction and programming, the SU Library provides all constituencies with the understanding needed to use information critically and ethically in learning and creating new knowledge to attain academic, career, and life goals.
"Information Literacy is …
The set of integrated abilities encompassing the reflective discovery of information, the understanding of how information is produced and valued, and the use of information in creating new knowledge and participating ethically in communities of learning."
Association of College and Research Libraries, 2019
The 21st Century Information landscape is an exciting place full of innovative technology and constant connectivity. We are no longer passive consumers of information, but both creators and curators. While the implications are meaningful, there is no doubt that this information overload can be overwhelming. Information literacy is a skill-set that can enhance lives academically, professionally and personally.
