Borrowing Library Items

The Library offers many types of items for loan:

• Print books from the regular circulating, YA, faculty, Baltimore Speakers Series, juvenile, and easy reader collections
• Print books on course reserve
• DVDs
• Blu-Rays
• Board games
• Laptop computers
• Calculators
• Whiteboard kits containing dry erase markers and an eraser

The following items may be used in the library for as long as you want, but can't be checked out:

• Print books from the reference and legal reference collections
• Print newspapers, magazines, and periodicals
• Rolling whiteboards
• Flatscreen TVs in the study rooms

In order to check out materials, a SUOne card with a barcode is needed. To obtain an ID, contact Campus Safety & Parking at 443-352-4500 for scheduling and information.

Books

• Books circulate to students for 28 days and to faculty and staff for 120 days.
• Students may have up to 25 items checked out at a time.
• A maximum of 8 books at a time may be checked out from the Children’s Collection.

Videos

• A total of two audio-visual items (DVDs, videos, CDs) may be checked out at a time for a loan period of 7 days.
