Recommended Databases

Because of the interdisciplinary nature of Criminal Justice, it is often necessary to search multiple databases to find all the relevant articles. The following list of databases all contain content that may yield useful information.

Not all articles in all databases are available full text. Use LinkSource (when available) or the Publication Finder to search for full text access.

APA PsycINFO This link opens in a new window
-Includes all fields of psychology including forensic psychology, criminal profiling and more -Many articles, are full text
Indexing to dissertations, book chapters, technical reports and other documents.
Criminal Justice Abstracts This link opens in a new window
Covers over 600 journals and magazines in the field of criminal justice and related fields such as law and sociology.
Coverage: Full-text coverage for over 350 journal titles, some extending back to the 1990’s, and a few titles prior to the 1970’s
ProQuest Ebook Central (formerly ebrary) This link opens in a new window
-Extensive e-book collection with searchable full text -Includes broad coverage of forensic disciplines
Description: Contains more than 137,000 titles, the majority of which were published after 2004. Users can read and highlight parts of texts; and at the same time, can take notes. All of the information can be saved into a personal account to be used for later use.
