CHS 220: Diversity and Cultural Competence: Language Pronunciation Help

This guide will provide information on how to effectively research a nation in-depth.

First Nations (Native American) Langauges

There are an extraordinary number of languages and dialects among the many tribes of the First Nations. This incredible diversity makes it difficult to compile comprehensive language resources. A good place to start for language information would be the website for the individual tribe you are researching. If you need sources with language information for more than one tribe, check out the links below.

The following eBooks are available online through the Stevenson Library, and include dictionaries for several individual Native American languages.

Latino Languages

African Languages

Middle Eastern Languages

Asian Languages
