Infographics: Sharing your Infographic

This guide can help you plan and design effective infographics to use for school, work or play.

Once you've designed an infographic, its time to share it with the world.

Save it Smart

File Formats – If you’re downloading an image of your infographic, try and save as many file types as possible. These formats generally include JPEG, PNG, and PDF files. JPEGs are lower resolution, so they are great for quickly sharing and viewing on the web. PNG and PDF are higher-quality formats, which are helpful if you want to share a higher resolution image.

Take a Snapshots – Avoid posting a long image that will probably be too small to see on many devices. Instead, take a screenshot of a particularly good looking section to use as a thumbnail image to link to your graphic.

Embed Code – Embed codes let you embed your infographic on websites and blog posts. Many infographic creation tools will have a built-in function to embed your image into your website, but you can also use an embed code generator.  They also make it easy for visitors to embed your infographic on their sites and give you instant credit.

Market like a professional

  1. Write a blog post: Make an online home for your infographic. Include your topic and the word "infographic" in the post title and create a short description so its searchable.
  2. Email your work to influencers. Send your infographic to contacts you have that may be looking for new content.
  3. Tear it apart. Deconstruct your infographic into slides for a Prezi or youtube video.
  4. Make it social. Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Pinterest - whatever suits your brand.

Out of the Box

Submit your infographic to directories and blogs like the ones listed below. These sites get a lot of traffic, which can help your project gain traction.
