Library Databases

Use these library databases to find articles from magazines and journals about authors and themes in literary works.  Searching on author name and the title of the work can help find the right sources for your research projects.

Online Sources

Here are a few online sources that can help give you more perspective for your research project.

This video helps explain how library databases work and why they are most useful when you are conducting research for your classes.

Questions to Ask to Help Focus a Topic

Who? This question defines the specific target of your topic.  It can be a person, place, thing, etc.

What? This question defines the event, catalyst or scope that you want to dive into.

When? This question can apply to both the historical scope of your topic and the assignment parameters.

Where? This generally defines the region of your topic.  It’s important because every country could have a completely different story to tell.
