Google Scholar: Getting Started: Home

Set-up Google Scholar to link to full-text articles from the SU Library

The Link

Looking for full text access to articles found in Google Scholar? All it takes is a little set-up, and you will be able to link to any available full text from SU.

Like most academic libraries, the SU Library uses a proxy server to allow faculty, staff and students off-campus access to subscription content. In order for this to work, the user must link to Google Scholar via the links provided by the library. These links include special coding to get to the desired site via the proxy server.

Google Scholar Set-Up

1. Open Google Scholar using the link provided.

2. If you click this link from off-campus, you will be prompted to log in with your SU username and password.

3. On the Google Scholar page, click "Settings."  (The link is at the top center of the page.)

4. In Settings, select "Library Links" found on the far left of the screen.

4. In the "Library Links" box, type in "Stevenson University" and click "Find Library."

5. Put check marks in all the boxes that appear for Stevenson University.

6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save."

7. You may now start searching for articles in Google Scholar. If an article is available full-text through one of our subscription databases, you will see a link that says "Full-Text from SU."
